Since 1982, the certified nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners, nurses, IBCLCs, and
other providers of The Midwife Center (TMC) have cared for thousands of clients and
their families. Our providers take care of clients of all ages, and provide a wide range of
services, including:

- Primary gynecological care
- Prenatal, childbirth, and postpartum care
- Behavioral health and wellness care
- Lactation consultations
- IUI/ICI family-building services
- In-house lab services
- Ultrasounds

The Midwife Center is the only freestanding, licensed birth center in Southwestern
Pennsylvania. We are licensed with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and are
nationally accredited with the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers
(CABC).

TMC accepts most private and public insurance plans and is a member organization of
Adagio Health, which enables us to provide gynecological care to clients for free or on a
sliding fee scale based on income and family size.

We believe that pregnancy, birth, and maturation are a normal, natural part of life and
that our job is to ensure your safety and comfort during this time through high-quality,
evidence-based care. TMC birthing clients and infants consistently experience excellent
health outcomes, including significantly lower rates of c-sections, premature births, and
low birthweights compared to national averages.

The Midwife Center is in-network with most private insurance
and Pennsylvania medical assistance (PA Medicaid) plans. We are not able to accept
out of state Medicaid plans.
